Last week we had get together in Mysore. It was the biggest GTG so far and it was nice to meet so many new volunteers. The headline "mysore mysore MYSORE!" refers to the screams of the bus conductors at the bus stands. To sound like a real Indian bus conductor the name of the city/village should be screamed very fast and many times with a rising intonation to the end:
maissoor, maissoor, maiSSOOR!
or
bengloor, bengloor, bengLOOR
or
hunssur, hunssur, hunSUR!
As we volunteers imitate the indianbusconductor-screams on the bus stands it raises laugh among the Indians. Sometimes it is a bit annoying though...
